Ok Philly Homebrewers and Professionals, it’s time for you to show everyone in Philly just how good your beers can be. Philly BEARD Corp. presents the Inaugural Philadelphia Pro-Am Competition!
Philly’s top homebrewers will team up with Philadelphia area professional brewers to create one-of-a-kind brews! Homebrewers and Pros are free to team up with whomever they choose, so if you have a great relationship with a homebrewer/pro and you’ve always wanted to collaborate, this is your chance.
And while bragging rights to the title of best brewer in Philly is certainly nice, there’s a lot more at stake here. The winning team (amateur and professional) as chosen by the BJCP judges will get a chance to show the whole country just how good they really are at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado.
That’s right, the winners will receive airfare, two (2) nights’ hotel stay, and entry into the GABF Pro-Am Competition (a $1500 value)! The winners as judged by the celebrity judge panel will receive gift cards to various area establishments. 2008 BJCP beer styles catego-
ries 1-23 will be used in judging.
The Pro-Am will be held in the Local 22 Firemen & Paramedic's Union Hall (415 N. 5th St., Phila., PA). The hall holds approximately 450 people, so this is a great opportunity to show a big crowd just how creative you can be. Additional-ly, a portion of the proceeds will go to a great cause - the Pink Boots Society.
The Pink Boots Society is an organization devoted to empowering women to advance their careers in the brewing industry through education.
Advance tickets are $40 for General Admission & $60 for VIP hour- includes an event glass and all the beer you can drink! All brewing teams will receive six tickets - one each for the pro and amateur, and four additional tickets for the brewery to distribute. Some of Philly’s nest food trucks will be serving up their very best to create perfect food pairings to go with the beers.
